Model 1200 Cylindrical Crankshaft/Camshaft Gage

The Adcole Model 1200 Cylindrical Coordinate Measurement Machine is the most accurate gage of its kind for measuring camshafts, crankshafts and other cylindrical parts with the tightest tolerances. The system employs unique laser interferometer technology to deliver the most precise radial and length measurements.


The Model 1200 gage handles part lengths up to 180″ (4575 mm). No other system can measure as accurately or as fast for parts the size and weight as the Adcole Model 1200. The rugged system can be located on the production floor as well as within a separate gaging environment.


This gage is the industry standard for automotive and diesel engine manufacturers. Its uncompromising accuracy makes it a perfect choice for the motorsports industry, as well, as grinder and polisher machine tool companies.


For additional speed and flexibility, the Model 1200 gage is also available in a dual-head configuration (Model 1200DH). With two simultaneous measuring heads, the Model 1200DH increases throughput for crankshaft and camshaft inspection. It can also be set up as a crankshaft gage using the first head, but with a camshaft follower on the second. This gives a primary capacity for inspection of crankshafts and a secondary capability for incoming inspection of camshafts.

The Adcole Model 1200 can be equipped with an LED micrometer, capable of measuring fillet undercut depths before and after a finishing rolling process. Affixed to a standard carriage, this fixture can provide fast and accurate readings of the fillet, journal straightness and radial distance of a journal, shoulder to shoulder. Measured reading can be added to the standard gage output report or printed separately.


This feature is optional on a new gage, or available as a retrofit, on existing gages. LED micrometer fixture is attached to the gage carriage for Z-axis location as directed by the gage. Similar to the standard gage sequence structure, scan locations are assigned through menu driven utility programs.
